Augie Duke was born in Los Angeles, California to Fredrica Duke and Dr. Daniel Kupper and grew up around show business. Her mother Fredrica was a 70’s commercial actress (Clairol), and her grandfather, Maurice Duke, was a legendary producer (“The Atomic Kid,” “Twist All Night”) and manager (Mickey Rooney, Zero Mostel). Her stepfather is television & screenwriter Michael Barrie (“Late Show with David Letterman,” “Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson,” and “Bad Boys” starring Will Smith & Martin Lawrence).
Augie caught the acting bug early. At age 4, a casting director spotted and cast her in a public service ad for Aids Awareness with singer Debbie Gibson. From then on, there was no doubt about the direction in which her life was headed. As an actress, Augie has trained at the Larry Moss Studio as well as with acclaimed acting coach Lynette McNeill. As a model, she was the face of Joe’s Jeans and has been featured in TV Guide and Vogue/Japan. She recently played the lead in the soon-to-be released French movie “Goudjou,” opposite France’s famed World Cup footballer Frank Leboeuf. 2011 should prove to be a banner year for Augie Duke as she is seen in principal roles in four indie films.
